Background: The Automated People Mover (APM) is an electric train system on a 2.25-mile elevated guideway with six stations total – three inside the Central Terminal Area (CTA) and three outside the airport. This elevated electric train system connects the LAX airport to the Los Angeles Metro train system and is the heart of the airport’s Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP). The APM’s Maintenance & Storage Facility is designed to be LEED Gold Certified.
